  • Creating 47 hectares of new habitats for marsh harriers.
  • Planting 150 indigenous trees to enhance woodlands.
  • Developing wetlands, reedbeds, and wet woodland to support local wildlife.

Fun Fact: The grayling butterfly, a priority species, has already made its home in newly created habitats! 🦋

 Sizewell C is close to RSPB Minsmere. Special measures include:

  • Minimising noise and light during construction.

Although 6.52 hectares of land will be used for construction, Sizewell C will:

  • Create 65 hectares of replacement habitats.
  • Transform low-grade agricultural land into rich natural areas like fen meadows and reedbeds.

Spotlight on Wild Aldhurst: This 67-hectare site features new wetlands already home to marsh harriers, bats, and otters.

 An independent Environmental Trust will be established to ensure Sizewell C delivers on its sustainability targets by:

  • Managing 800 hectares of land after construction.
  • Promoting rewilding and boost local biodiversity.
